Data Center Tour
Located in Knoxville,
Tennessee, USA, our data center is World Class in terms of network
connectivity and data center infrastructure design. We invite you to
take a virtual tour of our data center and experience the World Class
web hosting service we offer.
There are 6 major carriers that
have fiber networks coming into the building. Our bandwidth provider
ISDNnet uses a redundant system with fiber routes coming in and out from AT&T,
WorldCom, Savis, Qwest, and BellSouth. This redundant network ensures a
fast and reliable connection of your web site to the Internet. Unlike
some of our competitors, we do not purchase cheap, low quality bandwidth
from poor quality providers.
Four areas of the data center
we would like to show you.
1. Clean and Reliable Power
2. Controlled Environment
3. Comprehensive Security
4. Class A+ Servers and Equipment
1. CLEAN AND RELIABLE POWER
The
building has two power substation feeds from the electric utility
company.
Underground utilities protect
the critical systems from outages resulting from fallen power poles and
redundant utility supplies provide the "second source" when the first
sub-station fails.
Our data center is further
protected against power failures by power generator and UPS.
Clean
Power is very important to sensitive systems. Municipal power
requires filtering and surge protection. The entire data center receives
it's power from a very large bank of specialized batteries which are
continuously charged by municipal power. This system also bridges the
gap from utility outage to generator start-up.
Kohler
Diesel Generator Back-up provides the assurance available only
from having your own power source.
The generator is tested every week
to ensure all failover systems work perfectly. When a power outage is
detected, the generator will start automatically within 15 seconds. With
one tank of diesel in the generator, it can power 12,000 servers for 36
hours. Fuel can be added to keep the network up and running
indefinitely.
Now lets go to
Controlled Environment to continue the
tour.
